Retirees Returning to Work

“The Guilford County Schools recognize retired teachers as a valuable resource and encourages application for reemployment. The following information and links provide information regarding the current employment guidelines for retirees.”

• Reemployed Retiree Chart – This chart shows the requirements associated with retirees returning to work both under the retirement earnings cap and exempt from the retirement earnings cap.
• Memo from DPI regarding reemployed retirees exempt from the cap and payment of 11.7% - This is the memorandum from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction documenting the implementation requirements associated with employing eligible retirees to teach exempt from the earnings cap.
