Curriculum Specialist - Mathematics 9-12
Under general supervision, performs a variety of administrative tasks in coordinating the successful
implementation of mathematics programs in the County school system. Employee is responsible for interpreting changes to the North Carolina Curriculum, informing teachers and principals of the
implications of those changes, and ensuring that instruction is aligned with curriculum goals.
Employee assists teachers with developing strategies and techniques for assessing and fulfilling the mathematics deficiencies of their students. Employee also assists teachers with textbook and other materials selection and provides teachers various tools and materials to aid instruction. Employee assists administrators with evaluating the effectiveness of mathematics programs in the school system and develops strategies for improvement. Reports to the Curriculum Officer-High School.

Formative Assessment Coach - Western Region
Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks to assist in the district’s methods and
procedures for implementing a system-wide formative assessment program. Secondary Math certification or degree in related area is preferred.  Employee is responsible for facilitating the development of a wide range of formative assessments at the school and district level. Employee is responsible for guiding the analysis and interpretation of formative assessment results and summative assessments (EOG and EOC) to inform instruction. Employee is responsible for interpreting public school rules, laws and policies regarding testing procedures and
providing training to educators in the use of various instructional materials. Reports to the Regional Superintendent.

High School (9 – 12) Curriculum Officer
Under limited supervision, performs a variety of supervisory and administrative tasks to provide leadership and coordination of curricular and instructional programs across all organizational levels. Employee is responsible for supporting and coordinating the efforts of principals as well as central office curriculum and instructional personnel. Work involves coordinating English, Language Arts 9-12, Mathematics 9-12, Science 9-12, Social Studies 9-12, and School Improvement Plans. Employee is also responsible for planning and implementing staff development related to standards and assessments. Reports to the Chief Curriculum and Organizational Development Officer.

Minimum Training and Experience:
Master’s degree in Education and/or Education Administration with a Doctoral degree preferred, and 6 to 9 years of experience as a school principal or other educational administrative capacity; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Director - Benefits - Human Resources Division
Under limited supervision, performs highly responsible work relating to benefits administration, unemployment compensation, and the district wellness program. Work involves the development, communication and implementation of employee benefits. Employee is responsible for directing and coordinating disability, experience and salary verifications, and leaves of absence, retirement and worker’s compensation. Responsible for interpretation and application of Federal laws and guidelines, Public School Laws of North Carolina and guidelines, policies and regulations of the Department of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education as they relate to benefits administration. Position supervises and provides guidance for a professional and clerical staff engaged in the daily operational duties of the department. Employee is also responsible for production and distribution of employee identification badges and original and revised materials for the employee personnel handbook. Title I Program Specialist
Under limited supervision, performs a variety of administrative tasks in monitoring and
administering the operations of the Title I program according to federal, state and local
guidelines. Employee assists with the preparation of the Federal grant applications.
Employee assists with the implementation of the Title I program, providing help to
eligible schools in preparing their Plans, maintaining appropriate documentation, and
maintaining their budget, and ensuring adherence to federal, state and local policies and
procedures. Employee also assists with the implementation of other federal programs
including Title II, Title III, Title IV, Title V and other related programs. The employee
reports to the Director of Title I.

Employee reports to the K-8 Curriculum Officer.

Regional Instructional Technology Coach
Under the supervision of the Regional Superintendents/Enrichment Region Superintendent,
employee contributes to the development, coordination, implementation, and on-going
evaluation of technology initiatives in the Guilford County Schools. Employee provides training
and support to the staff on technology integration, the North Carolina Computer/Technology
Skills Curriculum, the North Carolina Technology Competencies for Educators, and
administrative applications. Employee supports the Regional Superintendents/Enrichment
Region Superintendent, Regional Executive Directors, Principals, Curriculum Facilitators, and
teachers in all technology instructional initiatives. Also, the employee assists the Curriculum and
Instruction and Organizational Development divisions with staff development programming.
