Transfer Application for the 2009-10 School Year is Now Open
***Update: Please note that for employees who have requested a transfer, the district will work with transfers throughout the month of May. Transfers will have the opportunity to apply for vacant positions after experienced teachers who have been displaced are in a position.***
2009-2010 TRANSFER SIGN UP is available for licensed staff from Monday, January 5, 2009 through Friday, January 30, 2009. The Teacher’s Section is available to all licensed staff including classroom, itinerant teachers, media specialists, counselors, social workers, psychologists. To apply for a transfer, you will need your email username, password, and social security number for authentication.
To access the Transfer Application Portal webpage, click here: http://transferlist.gcsnc.net Licensed staff eligible for transfers include staff with the following contract status: Career, P1 of 1, P1 of 4, P2 of 4, P4 of 4.
Licensed staff NOT eligible for transfer includes staff with a contract status of P3 of 4. Those with a P3 of 4 contract status may request a transfer due to extenuating circumstances. Follow the instructions when you access your Non-Eligible form. You will be notified in writing by the first week in February if your request to transfer based on extenuating circumstances is approved.
Licensed employees who hold an Interim Contract (temporary) are not eligible to be on the Transfer list as your contract is for one school year only and you may seek a transfer on your own for the upcoming school year.
Those employees on a leave of absence who are interested in being on the transfer list must go to a school location and complete the transfer request. The application will not work from your home computer.
Please note that those who successfully submit a transfer request will receive an automatic email verifying receipt. Please check your Guilford County Schools email for this confirmation (including your SPAM folders). If you receive a BLANK receipt it is because you did not indicate site or position preferences and you MUST enter this information for your request to be saved appropriately.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING TIMELINES ARE EXTENDED BASED ON RECENT APPROVED REVISIONS TO THE TRANSFER POLICY:
The time period in which to SIGN UP for a transfer ends at 5:00 pm, Friday, January 30, 2009.
The actual time period in which to RECEIVE a transfer ends at 5:00 pm, Friday, May1, 2009**.
The district will host a “Transfer Fair” for current “transfer eligible” employees Thursday, February 19, 2009 (time and location TBD). This time allows Principals and transfer candidates a chance to meet face-to-face and discuss possible transfer opportunities.
**NOTE: Those teachers interested in transferring to a Mission Possible school into a Mission Possible incentive-receiving position ONLY (Math, English/Language Arts, Reading or Elementary Education) will be offered an extended transfer period through Monday, June 15, 2009.
