Employee of the Month (July 2008)

GCS Announces Pearce Elementary Teacher as July Employee of the Month
There is one way to make a connection with elementary students – simply act like a child at heart. That’s precisely what Steven Snider, a Pearce Elementary second-grade teacher, does. “He’s dedicated, and he’s loyal,” Pearce Principal Pam Misher said. “In addition, he goes the extra mile. He builds an energetic atmosphere in his classroom; he’s really just a big kid at heart.”
In the nomination made on his behalf, a parent described Snider as a caring teacher, who visited her sick child at home and helped her catch up on missed class work. He affectionately refers to his students as “Snider’s Spiders,” and all parties agree: there is nothing this teacher wouldn’t do for one of his “spiders.”
As Employee of the Month, Snider received a $50 gift card from Sam’s Club, which has partnered with Guilford County Schools to support the employee recognition program.
