Students from Guilford County Schools Receive National Merit Scholarship

July 14, 2008

After illustrating a strong combination of accomplishments, skills and potential for success in rigorous college studies, six students from Guilford County Schools (GCS) are College-Sponsored National Merit Scholarship winners.

These GCS students secured College-Sponsored Merit Scholarships worth anywhere from $500 to $2,000 annually. The scholarships are based on their outstanding academic record, earned SAT scores and an essay describing activities, interests and goals. In addition, a school official endorsed and recommended each scholar.
