The Board of Education intends to be a good steward of its limited resources including energy and natural resources. All school system employees and students shall be diligent in their efforts to conserve and protect resources and to prevent the wasteful loss of energy and natural resources. Appropriate means and methods of conservation shall be employed to minimize energy and resource consumption, including but not limited to the design and operation of buildings, equipment, and vehicles, in addition to energy and resource conservation education. All school system employees and students shall share in the responsibility for the successful implementation of energy and resource programs. The Superintendent is directed to develop and implement Administrative Procedures to carry out this policy.

In compliance with federal laws, Guilford County Schools administers all educational programs, employment activities and admissions without discrimination because of race, religion, national or ethnic origin, color, age, military service, disability or gender, except where exemption is appropriate and allowed by law.
