It is the intent of the Guilford County Board of Education to permit solicitation of employees and students in the schools only under the provisions stated in this policy. Outside organizations shall not be permitted to solicit, advertise or sell goods or services through the schools without the approval of the Superintendent or his/her designee. Lists of employees, students, or parents will not be provided to any outside organization for solicitation purposes without specific approval of the Superintendent or designee.

Once approved, such solicitations of fund-raising activities shall not be conducted during regular school hours and, under no circumstances shall employees or students be required or pressured to make a contribution.

In compliance with federal laws, Guilford County Schools administers all educational programs, employment activities and admissions without discrimination because of race, religion, national or ethnic origin, color, age, military service, disability or gender, except where exemption is appropriate and allowed by law.
